PUBLIKAINDONESIA.COM, KOTABARU – Upaya meningkatkan literasi sejak usia dini terus digalakkan Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Kotabaru. Melalui Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan, Pemkab menggelar Lomba Bertutur Tingkat SD/MI se-Kabupaten Kotabaru di Gedung KNPI (Mahligai Kotabaru), Senin–Selasa (1–2/9/2025).
Kegiatan ini tidak hanya menghadirkan kompetisi bercerita, tetapi juga menjadi sarana menumbuhkan minat baca sekaligus melestarikan cerita rakyat Nusantara.
Sekretaris Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan, Dr. H. Asriady Sulaiman, S.IP, M.Si, mewakili Kepala Dinas Ir. Kamirudin, M.Si, mengatakan lomba bertutur memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter generasi muda.
“Anak-anak bukan hanya dilatih keberanian untuk tampil, tetapi juga diasah kemampuan berbahasa, daya ingat, serta kecintaan terhadap budaya lokal,” ujarnya.
Sebanyak 21 peserta dari SD/MI di Kecamatan Pulau Laut Utara, Pulau Laut Sigam, dan Pulau Laut Tengah tampil membawakan cerita rakyat. Kisah yang dipentaskan antara lain Legenda Putri Junjung Buih, Asal Mula Sumur Manggurak, Hikayat Saijaan dan Ikan Todak, hingga Batu Menangis.
Peserta diwajibkan tampil tanpa membaca teks, dengan durasi maksimal 10 menit. Penilaian mencakup aspek ekspresi, intonasi, penguasaan cerita, serta penampilan di panggung.
Asriady menegaskan, lomba bertutur merupakan program nasional yang digelar berjenjang dari tingkat kabupaten hingga nasional. Ia berharap kegiatan ini dapat berkelanjutan agar literasi dan budaya lokal tetap terjaga.
“Dengan terbiasa membaca dan mendengar cerita, anak-anak akan memiliki imajinasi luas sekaligus karakter yang kuat. Inilah salah satu cara kita mendukung peningkatan indeks literasi di Kotabaru,” tambahnya.
Ketua Panitia, Zulfikri, S.Pd., M.M., menyampaikan pemenang lomba akan memperoleh piala dan hadiah menarik, sekaligus berkesempatan mewakili Kotabaru di tingkat selanjutnya.
“Kami berterima kasih kepada semua pihak yang telah mendukung kegiatan tahunan ini. Semoga dari sini lahir generasi yang cinta literasi dan bangga dengan budaya lokal,” ungkapnya.
