PUBLIKAINDONESIA.COM, JAKARTA – Ketua Umum PSSI Erick Thohir menegaskan bahwa laga Timnas Indonesia melawan China pada 5 Juni mendatang menjadi momen krusial dalam perjuangan skuad Garuda di Grup C ronde ketiga Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 Zona Asia.
Pertandingan yang akan digelar di Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, ini disebut sebagai “penentu nasib” Indonesia untuk tetap menjaga asa lolos ke babak berikutnya.
“Kita fokus dulu lawan China. Karena kalau lawan China kita tidak dapat poin tiga, saya rasa berat sekali kita untuk ke play-off,” ujar Erick kepada awak media, Sabtu (1/6/2025).
Indonesia masih memiliki dua laga tersisa di fase grup: menghadapi China di kandang (5 Juni) dan tandang ke markas Jepang (10 Juni).
Dua pertandingan ini menjadi penentu apakah Indonesia bisa melangkah ke ronde keempat atau harus puas dengan peluang terakhir melalui jalur play-off.
Target Realistis: Posisi Ketiga atau Keempat
Erick menyampaikan bahwa target realistis Timnas saat ini adalah mengamankan posisi ketiga atau keempat di grup. Meskipun tidak langsung lolos, posisi tersebut memungkinkan Indonesia tetap bersaing di fase lanjutan.
“Jangan dulu berpikir terlalu jauh ke Jepang, karena penentu semuanya adalah lawan China di GBK,” tegasnya.
Reuni Penuh Dendam di GBK
Pertemuan pertama Indonesia melawan China di Qingdao, Oktober 2024 lalu, berakhir dengan kekalahan 1-2. Kala itu, Garuda takluk lewat gol Zhang Yuning dan Baihelamu Abdulweli, meski sempat tampil percaya diri usai hasil positif sebelumnya.
Kini, laga kandang menjadi momentum bagi skuad asuhan Shin Tae-yong untuk membalas kekalahan tersebut dan memperbaiki posisi di klasemen.
China sendiri sempat tampil buruk di awal ronde ketiga dengan tiga kekalahan beruntun, termasuk kekalahan telak 0-7 dari Jepang. Namun, mereka bangkit dan kini menjadi rival langsung Indonesia dalam perebutan posisi klasemen.
Dukungan Suporter Jadi Kunci
Pertandingan di Gelora Bung Karno diprediksi berlangsung panas dan penuh tekanan. Dukungan penuh dari ribuan suporter di kandang akan menjadi faktor kunci dalam membakar semangat tim nasional.
“Tiga poin di GBK adalah harga mati jika kita ingin terus berada di jalur kualifikasi,” kata Erick.
Jika gagal meraih kemenangan atas China, Indonesia akan berada di posisi yang sangat sulit karena harus menghadapi Jepang di laga terakhir tim yang jauh lebih unggul secara kualitas, ranking FIFA, dan pengalaman.
Harapan Garuda Masih Terbuka
Dengan tekanan tinggi namun peluang yang masih terbuka, laga kontra China akan menjadi ujian mental dan kualitas sesungguhnya bagi Timnas Indonesia.
Kemenangan akan menjaga mimpi tampil di Piala Dunia tetap hidup, sementara hasil sebaliknya bisa jadi akhir perjalanan lebih awal bagi skuad Merah Putih.
