PUBLIKAINDONESIA.COM, TANAH LAUT – Pemerintah Kabupaten Tanah Laut mulai mematangkan rencana pemekaran wilayah dengan membentuk kecamatan baru. Bupati Tanah Laut, H. Rahmat Trianto, meninjau langsung Desa Sungai Riam, Kecamatan Pelaihari, yang disebut berpotensi menjadi pusat kecamatan baru bernama Taruna Makmur.
Peninjauan ini dikemas dalam forum Focus Group Discussion (FGD) yang digelar Senin (2/9/2025), dihadiri Wakil Bupati H.M. Zazuli, Kepala Dinas PMD, Kabag Pemerintahan, Kabid Tata Ruang, Camat Pelaihari, serta Kepala Desa Sungai Riam, Sopyan Budiyanto.
Bupati Rahmat menegaskan pemekaran wilayah menjadi langkah strategis dalam menghadapi pertumbuhan penduduk dan tuntutan pelayanan publik yang lebih merata.
“Melihat dari jumlah penduduk Kabupaten Tanah Laut dan kebutuhan pengembangan permukiman, maka mau tidak mau kita harus mengembangkan perluasan kecamatan,” ujarnya.
Rahmat menyebut Desa Sungai Riam memiliki potensi sebagai pusat kecamatan baru. Namun, keputusan final masih menunggu hasil kajian teknis.
“Kami masih menganalisis data lengkap, termasuk penentuan lokasi pusat perkantoran yang strategis dan akomodatif. Hasil kajian inilah yang nantinya akan menjadi dasar keputusan,” jelasnya.
Secara administratif, Sungai Riam dinilai memenuhi syarat, mulai dari jumlah penduduk, aksesibilitas, hingga potensi ekonomi. Kendati demikian, wilayah ini masih tercatat sebagai kawasan perkebunan dalam peta Evaluasi Tata Ruang dan Hutan (ETRH). Karena itu, penyesuaian tata ruang perlu dilakukan sebelum penetapan resmi sebagai kecamatan baru.
Melalui FGD, pemerintah daerah berupaya menyelaraskan aspirasi masyarakat dengan kajian teknis lintas sektor. Targetnya, keputusan pemekaran dapat segera ditetapkan setelah semua proses administrasi dan kajian rampung.
