PUBLIKAINDONESIA.COM, KOTABARU – Dari deretan wajah pengurus Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Kabupaten Kotabaru periode 2025–2028 yang baru dilantik, satu sosok perempuan tampak berdiri tegar di tengah dominasi laki-laki.
Dia adalah Ummy Kalsum, Bendahara PWI Kotabaru yang resmi menjabat usai pelantikan di Gedung Paris Barantai, Senin (11/8/2025).
Ummy mengaku kehadirannya di kepengurusan PWI bukan hanya sebagai pelengkap, tetapi ingin memberi warna dan motivasi bagi wartawan perempuan, khususnya di Kotabaru.
“Semoga bisa menjadi motivasi untuk wartawan wanita di Kotabaru, khususnya. Karena saya perempuan, saya merasa mewakili keterlibatan perempuan di PWI,” ujarnya.
Ia berharap, kepengurusan PWI periode ini mampu menjadi contoh yang baik, solid, dan memberikan manfaat nyata bagi seluruh anggota, termasuk generasi wartawan yang baru bergabung.
“Semoga PWI ini menjadi lebih baik, dan para pengurus tahun ini hingga ke depan bisa memberikan teladan kepada anggota lainnya. Pokoknya, kami ingin membawa PWI ke arah yang lebih baik,” tambahnya.
