PUBLIKAINDONESIA.COM, JAKARTA – Pimpinan Pusat (PP) Muhammadiyah mengumumkan tonggak penting dalam pembangunan ekonomi umat: Bank Syariah Matahari kini resmi memperoleh izin operasional dari Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) sejak 18 Juni 2025. Legalitas tersebut tertuang dalam Surat Keputusan OJK Nomor KEP-39/D.03/2025.
Bank Syariah Matahari merupakan transformasi dari BPR Matahari Artadaya milik Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA), yang sebelumnya berstatus lembaga keuangan konvensional. Kini, setelah beralih sistem, bank ini hadir sebagai bagian dari ekosistem keuangan syariah Muhammadiyah, dengan misi utama memperkuat kemandirian ekonomi umat.
Ketua PP Muhammadiyah, Anwar Abbas, dalam surat imbauannya mengajak seluruh struktur dan elemen persyarikatan untuk memberikan dukungan nyata terhadap bank syariah ini.
“Menempatkan dana pihak ketiga seperti tabungan dan deposito, memanfaatkan layanan keuangan, hingga mengelola transaksi kelembagaan melalui Bank Syariah Matahari adalah bentuk kontribusi nyata,” ujar Anwar.
Ia menekankan bahwa keberadaan bank ini bukan hanya sebagai lembaga keuangan semata, tetapi juga bagian dari strategi dakwah Muhammadiyah di bidang ekonomi. Bank Syariah Matahari diharapkan menjadi pilar utama dalam membangun sistem ekonomi umat yang berbasis nilai-nilai Islam, inklusif, dan berkeadilan.
Anwar juga meminta para pimpinan wilayah dan daerah Muhammadiyah untuk aktif menyosialisasikan keberadaan Bank Syariah Matahari kepada masyarakat luas, guna memperluas jangkauan layanan dan manfaat ekonomi yang dapat dirasakan langsung.
Bank ini bergabung dalam jajaran lembaga keuangan syariah Muhammadiyah yang terus berkembang. Hingga pertengahan 2025, tercatat Muhammadiyah telah mengelola sekitar 10 Bank Perkreditan Rakyat Syariah (BPRS) di berbagai daerah, sebagai wujud nyata dari upaya membangun ekosistem keuangan syariah yang kuat dan berorientasi pada pemberdayaan masyarakat.
Dengan izin resmi dari OJK dan dukungan penuh dari seluruh keluarga besar Muhammadiyah, Bank Syariah Matahari siap melangkah menjadi pusat layanan keuangan yang tak hanya profesional, tetapi juga membawa visi dakwah dan pemberdayaan ekonomi umat.
